These are all over the place right now, but they are so incredibly awesome I have to post them here. Eric Fisher mapped geotagged images on Flickr of cities around the world, and came up with these beautiful and somewhat abstracted maps. Too bad LA's is not as pretty as the rest. I want these on posters.
The Phat desk is all about storage, providing extra space for a small place. Prodigious in volume, it wants to gobble up your stuff for a rainy day. Designed for a 10x10 room, it sits opposite your bed. Awesomely long, it is narrow enough to not crowd you out, while providing that work-surface you so desperately need. Currently under assembly, expect more to come... _
I got a new camera for christmas, just a new point and shoot Casio, but it's nice to be able to take pictures anytime again. Yesterday, on a drive up I-5, I just started snapping away and couldn't stop. The freeway is a strange place, and I think these pictures are even stranger. The cars here are suspended in motion, driven by unknowing subjects, creating oddly voyeuristic and often intimate shots. The sidewise view renders a busy freeway as open, and captures an anonymity of place common here. As much as I can't stand the landscape of a freeway bound culture, I am fascinated by its imagery and its obsession with control against all odds.
This month, and this month only, Meghan and I are doing an Urban Edit a day... They will be posted on our temporarily de-defuncted blog, The Kids At The Top of The Stairs. Check it out! _
